The OPI-5 UMI-C can add Machine Data Collection (MDC) modules, such as the NEX-9028 Quad Input internal option card. This NEX-9028 module gives the UMI-C (OPI-5) 4 optically isolated inputs via the central DB9M connector. The external INPUT state is reported via MTConnect tags in the port 7878 adapter.
